- Mr Mosenev, when and under what circumstances did this focus area appear?
- The roots of the field stretch back to the end of the 80’s. The leading area for investigating and development was Scandinavia. Our company was the first to sell ventilation cleaning equipment and organize maintenance services in Russia. Ventilation cleaning rules in Russia have been little more than guidelines for business in the past, but now the Government is working out a resolution concerning the organized inspection over ventilation and air conditioning systems cleaning and disinfection. This will hold owners responsible for their buildings’ ventilation, and require them to check the state of ventilation systems regularly and organize the cleaning procedure if required.
- How does your company cooperate with its clients?
- A good example of how we cooperate with clients is our on-going relationship with MGTS. You all might remember the conflagration at one of their exchanges on Schepkina Street. The fire was able to spread extremely quickly due to pollution in the ventilation ducts. After this incident, MGTS realized the urgent necessity of ventilation cleaning and found Green Group on the Internet. Several successful official visits led to an action area plan. With the help of our newest diagnostic outfit, Green Group was able to inspect the air ducts at the MGTS sites.
- How does the above-mentioned diagnostic equipment work?
- A remote controlled video camera system built-into a mini tractor is placed into the ventilation system and estimates the level of contamination. The unit is able to detect the presence of material debris and dust. Green Group specialists performed a demonstrational cleaning of a contaminated section of ventilation and after the measurement of conduit length and its close inspection, Green Group was able to calculate the total cost of cleaning works in the ventilation system of MGTS.
The performed calculations showed that the cost of the services considerably exceed the cost of cleaning equipment due to the immense scope of work and great amount of branching. Two contractors, Komtechnoplast and Verteks, have come to a decision to purchase the equipment and invited Green Group as a subcontractor for ventilation cleaning.
- What does the equipment consist of?
- The set of cleaning equipment is comprised of a brushing machine and an industrial negative air pressure cleaner. All of the brushing units feature a flexible feed shaft which diligently wipes the dust and debris off the duct’s internal surfaces. The pressure vacuum cleaner produces a strong air stream which sucks the dust in.
Green Group organizes the training of personnel to use the equipment. A team of two workers is able to clean up to 100 running meters of ventilation during an average 8 –hour work day. It should be noted that the cleaning activities do not disturb building personnel. After the cleaning is implemented, an inspection robot is launched and a report of completion is drawn up.
Every site requires an individual approach. Our specialists select the appropriate equipment, consider a timetable and chart the duct layout plan, on the basis of which the cleaning of the ventilation and conditioning systems is performed.
